God was so merciful to wake me up after nearly 30 years of that! "I thought I had ditched my ego but I had a bigger ego than ever" new age in a nutshell. I used to be really into new age YouTube channels and it always rubbed me the wrong way how these people talk about being egoless, but they all seemed to have massive egos. It happens to almost everyone in those communities. People get these spiritual egos and act like they're more enlightened than you and lecture you on universal truths like they know all the secrets of the universe and everything they say is fact. I ended up the same way actually.

I got out of new age years ago and only recently found how God communicates with me and it's really only when I'm in the most humble state of mind and begin to ponder. I believe the ego gets in the way of you and God and new age convinces you you've conquered the ego but the reality is it's never been bigger. It creates a major barrier between you and God so the devil can pose as God and manipulate you.

As someone who was saved out of the new age in 2022, I just want to thank you for sharing your story from such an empathetic and loving heart posture. I’ve been wanting to share my testimony online because I still have loved ones in the new age, but I’ve been so hesitant because I don’t know how to approach it in a way that they’ll receive it fully. Beautiful testimony! Like a lot of millennials in Canada & other western coutnries I grew up with a cynical view of Christianity and my filling the void was with left-wing politics, travel, going to indie rock shows, internet porn, reading existential philosophy etc....

The game changer for me was reading holocaust survivor's Viktor Frankl man search for meaning which got me reading up on Christianity, Islam. Buddhism, Judaism, Baha'ism and eventually discovering the works of C.S. Lewis which opened me up to Christianity & G.K. Chesterton and his essay the ethics of elfland which lead me back to my Catholic roots. Due to my conversion I lost a lot of my tolerant liberal friends and it put some strains with some of my super left family members but I've never looked back.

I got severely soul wounded by getting lost in the new age . I came to faith in Jesus Christ thru meeting Ian mccormack who had an NDE of dying and meeting Jesus . I am free in Christ now but still have the scars of the new age . Thanks for sharing yoour beautiful story
