"Who Wants to Live Forever?" should have been playing the entire scene.

I cried when this happened. I love Connor and I loved Duncan. Only Connor would give Duncan this. He chose to let Duncan be the one to end him. They loved each other like brothers. 😢

You'd think that Connor's quickening would be longer and cooler looking that a standard no body kill.

I had "who wants to live forever?(when love must die)" playing in my head while watching this. It was clear why connor wanted to die. He'd had enough.

I saw this with my dad because he’s a big fan and loved the show back in the day. This scene broke his heart because he loved Conner while I loved his cousin because I loved the series. Conner got his proper send off.

What has always gotten me-when Connor says “One of us has to die now”. The resignation in his voice, the finality- Connor was ready to go. Weary in body and soul. Everyone he had loved save Duncan gone to either mortal death or immortal vengeance. He had lived and loved and lost, many times over. At the end, he wanted to stop Kell, give Duncan the chance to do it, and peace at last. At a point in everyone’s life, I think everyone thinks they’ve seen it all, that they’re just tired and worn out. And they think about an end to it all. Connor went out a hero and a true Highlander. His clan and Ramirez would have been proud

I loved the show. I dont remember this at all. Maybe i blocked it out lol. It made me actually cry. Not only losing Connor but having Duncan do it. But it was seeing his memories of his long dead wife and his spirit seeming to go back to Scotland to her. I lost my wife a few years back and it brought those emotions up. Wish I could be with her. When we first met the first movie she rented for us was Highlander. It was late 1987 and Id not seen it then. Was amazing. Miss ya love.

I identified with Duncan more as I liked how the series allowed us to delve into the character/universe more deeply but this was still sad.

For me, the first episode of the Highlander saga is one of the most beautiful films I have seen in my life. This quest for immortality after which all humanity runs. We will probably get there one day. But I also never forgot Beatie Edney who played the role of Heather in the very first film of the Highlander saga. This brings us back to more basic emotions but so intense too...

This tragic scene made me shed a few tears the first time I saw it. Connor was tired and ready to go. It was only fitting that Duncan absorbed Connor's power. Damned if I didn't choke up again when Duncan said "I love you, Connor..." There can be only one.

I'm.... confused. This is why you don't make sequels to movies that never needed one. The first Highlander movie is the ONLY Highlander movie in my book.

Two men forced to fight to the death, by a nature and a destiny they did not choose but could avoid. What a great story line.

I am partial to the series with Duncan, having grown up with it, but this scene with Conner is well acted. Well done.

Highlander was by far my favourite silly nerd franchise when I was a teen. I'd come home from school for lunch and watch the TV show while eating. I wouldn't miss it, not even on 9/11 - while everyone else was glued to the news I was probably the only one tuned in to the Highlander rerun on whatever channel it was on (Space? can't remember).

Such an emotional moment, a great goodbye to a legendary character and a brilliant movie.

I bawled like a baby in the theater when I watched this. My love for both of the characters...to see their pain of the situation. Ugh...fuck...I still cry just watching the clip.

Christopher Lambert was great in the movies, but honestly, I really like Adrian Paul's character more. We really got to know him in the tv series, and I think it's fitting that he ended up being the last Immortal.

Also, I got the feeling the Connor was tired of living, so he got to save Duncan, and put a end to things at the same time.
