Fractions to Units - Solve A Grade 4 Singapore Math Fraction Story Problem | Model Fractions ©

Here's a great start to solving fraction story problems using the Fractions to Units method taught in Singapore Math! Always start with a fraction bar model (!) to illustrate Facts and Queries. Remember: Each fraction is equal to a part of a whole... and we call these "Units" or "u".

To get your answer, find out the value of each Unit then multiply by the number of units representing the Query (in this case, 1 unit). You can also skip finding out the value of 1 unit, and go straight into solving for the number of units required, as shown in your bar model.
