Fractions of Amounts | Maths with Mrs B.

This video is a continuation of the videos about fractions. It teaches learners about calculating fractions of amounts looking at unit and non-unit fractions.

National Curriculum Objectives KS2:
Year 3: Recognise, find and write fractions of a discrete set of objects: unit fractions and non- unit fractions with small denominators
Year 3: Recognise and use fractions as numbers: unit fractions and non-unit fractions with small denominators
Year 4: Solve problems involving increasingly harder fractions to calculate quantities, and fractions to divide quantities, including non-unit fractions where the answer is a whole number.

National Curriculum Objectives KS3:
Use the four operations, including formal written methods applied to mixed numbers, all both positive and negative.

CfW Progression Step 2: I am beginning to understand that unit fractions represent equal parts of a whole and are a way of describing quantities and relationships. I have experienced fractions in practical situations, using a variety of representations.

Hello though I already knew this method it made me feel a bit more confident about fractions of amounts . My teacher taught me this but it did not make sence but this video really make me extremely confident . Thank u for all th help you have done . I really appreciate it .
