As soon as you said Tutankhamun did some reorganizing of the religious and political structures I was like "Something's up...I smell a regent..."

I think it should be noted that canes from his tombs may have been use as a weapons or symbol of power. Some experts argues that his 'deformed' foot may be result of too strong ties of bandages. If he had health feet, then it means he wasn't at all disabled and he could actively hunt or even participate in war. It would be very simple to tell he was weak teenager but I think that current evidence swing both ways - some poeple say he couldn't even stand in chariot, but other claims not only he could, but he could still be a skillet warrior or hunter.

Personally, I feel that some people (I'm saying in general) tend to aplly to Tut every possible 'malfunction', both physical like mental, and don't give him any credit, which I think he deserves (I literally read some article in which author tried to claim that Tut could have authism because of incestual background and because of that couldn't oppose his advisers. This whole theory is just idiotic, since: a) we don't know what was exactly happening between Tut and his guardians b) autism or any mental disorder can't be proven without therapy.) I find it's very sad, because I think that myth of incapable boy lacks a basic. He died around 18-20, but it doesn't mean he couldn't be capable ruler - Cleopatra was active queen when she was literally in his death age, Hathsepsut was chosen as regent presumably around age 15. So I think that events that happened when Tut was 14-18 might have been more of his agency than it seems.

Tangentially related but weirdly you can observe a tragically similar situation happening amongst some religious polygamist family groups here in the US, but without the lovely objet d'art left in their wake.

It's NOT absolutely certain that Akhenaten was Tut's father. KV 55 mummy may have been Smenkhare who may have been a younger brother of Akhenaten. Yes Akhenaten might have been Tut's father but its not certain.
