3:37- The US American writer Washington Irving spent months living in Granada in the Alhambra in the late 1820's and told many tales about the palace complex-including one about the tunnels in which an Ancient Egyptian wizard in vengeance for being cheated by a king, took the king's favorite mistress to stay with him in the tunnels. .forever which supposedly was the source of the Alhambra's magic.
Ironically, at the time of Mr. Irving's stay, the once grand Moorish royal palace had fallen into ruin and had become home to destitute squatters who all felt proud to live in a palace! Alas, due to his work drawing attention (and tourists) to the Alhambra, there was a move to renovate and restore it- which resulted in the squatters being evicted!

A small magic shop that I would visit as a kid had a hidden room behind one of the bookshelf that served as an office and to secretly teach how tricks that were purchase worked. A hidden room like that was one of the most fascinating things to a kid.
