About 240 million people are eligible to vote in this year’s US election, but only a relatively small number of them are likely to settle the question of who becomes the next president.

Experts believe there are only a handful of states that could plausibly be won by Kamala Harris or Donald Trump, for the Democrats or Republicans respectively.

Seven of them - Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin - could hold the key to the White House.

Now, in the final months of the election, both campaigns are at full throttle to win over undecided voters in these states.

Did anyone else watch the debate between Trump and Biden? That was more like a comedy show than a serious political discussion. Makes the US look like a third-world country!

"no guys we promise we're not biased"

As much as I dislike Trump, if the entire full campaign ad for Kamala Harris is going to be played then the Trump campaign ad should also be played. It is this kind of foolish reporting that causes people to accuse the BBC of bias and for the BBC to lose its credibility. It would be far better to avoid playing either campaign ad. These ads are utterly irrelevant to the British electorate anyway.

The hard truth is I don’t really care how the debate goes. I’m a conservative, but I’m voting for Harris for one overwhelming reason. I believe Mr Trump to be a threat to our Republic.

Price Gouging is whats happening in the UK. But will our government do anything? Its a major cause of inflation, not the symptom.

The US holds a presidential election every 4 years. We start discussing the next one after 2 years.

Or, us Yanks might just decide, with no concern re: policies, , , , who has been convicted & who has not?!! It's just that easy.

Candidates that just talk about winning and defeating their opponents instead of talking about how they plan to help the people of the nation are bad eggs

I based my projection on what I see, hear, and evaluate accordingly.

As of 2024, there are over 210 million registered voters in the United States. Additionally, approximately 244 million Americans are eligible to vote in the 2024 elections.

In the 2020 presidential election, lunatic Trump received >74.2 million votes which was a record number for a sitting president, although he did not win the election. Out of that, around >38.8 million are registered Republican grassroot supporters. Joe Biden received approximately 81.3 million votes that was the highest number of votes ever received by a presidential candidate in U.S.A history.

If Republican registered grassroot supporters are sick & tired with lunatic Trump hijacking & dominating their party, 20-30% will vote for VP Kamala which means, in the 2024 presidential election, lunatic Trump will only receive around >55.7 million votes.
If all come to pass with votes from reenergized Democrats grassroot supporters, new registered voters, disenchanted Republican votes, and votes from young Americans, women/men/veteran/etc. groups, that will propel VP Kamala to become the 47th President of the USA.
I would not predict the number of votes that VP Kamala Harris will receive, but I am 100% certain that it will surpass the total number of votes that President Joe Biden received in 2020.

This media talking point is such horseshit. She's not absent policy. She speaks about green energy. She speaks about corporate price gouging. She speaks about healthcare and reproductive rights. She speaks about parental leave and social security. She speaks about freedom to be LGBTQ without being oppressed by state governments. What are you talking about?

It's quiet difficult to project the likely winner as the source of the polls and how the polls are conducted makes much difference to the results

Greetings from Russia. Today in the news I watched Trump's debate with some woman. I was shocked. Your debates have no constructive. Your politicians just stood and poured dirt on each other. How disgusting it is

Love to see BBC take a completely non biased approach on the US election. I enjoyed watching half of her campaign ad. I loved hearing them say Trump is a thing of the past. I love being told what to think! I love that the BBC is so blatantly in the pockets of the Democratic Party!

Imagine the British PM being chosen by only the voters of Cheltenham?

Polls or pundits don't determine who wins the vote, but voters turn out and actually vote to determine the winner.
