Where to Buy:

In this episode I put the “Pyzalien 2” through the paces in 1-6’+ surf. We started our board testing at BSR Surf Resort in Waco, TX and the more I rode this model it quickly became a Favorite.
The Pyzalien 2 is fast down the line and offers quick rail to rail transitions with excellent projection and hold in a wide range of wave sizes. I also found it to be very versatile with different fin set up options to suit surfers that like Thrusters, Quads, and Twin + Trailer in 1-7’ surf.
This board excelled in 3-7’ surf and blew my mind in 1-2’ surf with it’s quick get up and go speed as a small wave performance board. The Pyzel website claims a pretty wide wave range from 2-10’ surf and they may have understated the low-end range on this model as it exceeded my expectations in 1’ surf.
The Pyzalien 2 is a FAVORITE of mine for the Daily Driver category but it’s truly a 1 board quiver for surfers looking for a board that excels in 1-7’ surf. I highly recommend the Pyzalien 2 for intermediate – pro level surfers.
Surfboard Dimensions:

Twin + Trailer: Al Merrick Twin + Trailer in Honeycomb Construction

My Height: 5’9”
My Weight: 160 lb or 72.57 kg

Noel! I just wanna say as a very long time viewer of the channel I really appreciate these videos man. And something else, that saying “grab your favorite drink “ right before watching basically our version of a grown up toy review on all of our favorite thing being surfing. There’s something about it man hahaha It’s simple and different and such a good way to start these videos

I appreciate how you alternate frontside and backside waves. very refreshing versus just seeing frontside waves all the time

Noel, I had my favorite cereal before starting my day. Mahalo for all of your reviews. The way you describe these subtle differences will help many surfers narrow their decision when choosing a board base on their experience, style and goals. Aloha.

Another excellent review thanks Noel. The comparison with the Phantom and Astro Pop, was very helpful. Love that sort of thing.

I picked up a 6'0" x 19.5 x 2.5 PU coming in at 31.5L. Im 5'10", 170lbs and rode it at head high to a few feet over head at Middles. I absolutely LOVE this board and it was exactly what i was looking for. Something i can put more on rail and get a little more HPSB feel out of it. I have the JJF large thruster set in it. Just magic with head high + surf with some oomph.

My daily driver is usually a Firewire Glazer ( 5'7" at 33.5L, ) with the Machado Thruster set, or a Seaside ( also 5'7" and 33.5L) with the Controller Quads. As Noel has highlighted, the wider/flatter boards tend to want to catch up around the nose.

Perhaps A 5'10" Mini Ghost might be next for me. In chestish high, the 6'0" feels a little long.

Decided to make this my one board quiver. Put in my Ando Blackstix thruster set. Loving it. I plan on trying other fin setups mentioned in your review. Mahalos

Really good to hear what you say about the board and its response to back, neutral or front footed surfers. I think this is a very important element to a board and would love to hear your thoughts on other boards and whether they suit front or back footed surfers more.

Thanks, Noel
Easily the best reviews on the web
My only problem is that your skills are so good - you get magic out of a board that I can only dream of

You're killing me, Noel. You are costing me money and going to get me in trouble with my wife.Ha ha ha!!!! Just picked up my custom 5'7" P2 that came in at 25.8 liters and the 5'5" Rocket Wide in spinetek that came in at 25.8 liters as well. The P2 looks sick and passes the under the arm test. If it works as well as it looks, I'm stoked!!!! Thanks again for all of the great reviews!!!!

It would be really interesting to see what you thought of the board in 1-2 ft surf in PU construction. Cos if it's a 1 board quiver you can't have it in PU and Epoxy :)

I had the FireWire pizalien and was the same, the best board for all conditions, with the quad was ideal for powerful spots. But was nice for all conditions but not brilliant for anything, I think is a very nice choice for big guys that are intermediate, learning to turn well level.
