This was one of the most helpful videos about 360 I have seen as a newbie. I spent the last 5 hours battling a sketch and was curious about offsets. Found this video somehow from that and now you've solved about 20 different problems I was having. Thank you so much.

Thanks for the video, I'm a CAD student and your playlists are helping me wrap my head around cnc programming.

Getting more and more comfortable with Fusion 360 every Friday. Thanks.

John, I'm excited about Fusion 360. I've worked with AutoCAD for 30 years. The commands in Fusion 360 are so similar! I thought about learning SolidWorks, but Fusion seems so much easier for me to learn. Your videos are a great source of info. I'm thinking of learning Fusion 360 and doing design work for a local job shop when I retire in a couple years. I don't need to make a living at it, but a few bucks might be nice.

Don't feel guilty about having an intern do the kinds of stuff that you had (and still sometimes have) to do. You are giving him a realistic view of what it takes to succeed at business. There are simply times everyone has to roll up their sleeves and do "menial" tasks. I have very senior people, paid a whole lot of money and I still expect them to take out the garbage (as do I sometimes). I am reminded of the time honored tradition in the Navy where every single person on an aircraft carrier (captain included) walk shoulder to shoulder to inspect literally every square inch the carrier deck for anything that could be sucked into a jet engine which could shut down the carrier deck -- which is undoubtedly the single most important function of the ship. By introducing this young man to reality he learns the stuff that really keeps a business running. It isn't always glamor and the sooner you learn that the better!

You should zoom in with your 1/8th circle at the end to check, you'd find out the gap is actually smaller than that. It's because your constraint distance is not orthogonal to the two small circles.

John, I have watched many Fusion 360 tutorials, but yours are the best. Do more of them.

Really good tutorial. Totally appreciated.

John,

Nice to see how you've become more comfortable with Fusion360. I guess what they say 'practice makes perfect' is true. :-)

John, Great many thanks for the vids, I down load them, and play them with Fusion open, it's like being in class with you, except I can rewind if I'm not sure or missed a step or concept. Best Fusion tutorials out there !

Great instruction that I needed to make a part. LOL 4:14 “does that make sense? If not pay attention!… errrr follow along”

I love the use of a spreadsheet as your calculator, that's awesome. I'm going to have to try it out.

For the last slot sketch I would have done the same constraint method, but I would have done it along the default X and Y axis.  As you finished your sketch I suddenly realized that by not using the X and Y but your own construction axis you can easily change the dimension between the slots, and more importantly you can easily change the quantity of slots.  Change the 90 to 72 and you can pattern 5 slots.  Nice work.

Nice video. I think this was more helpful than many other F360 videos I've seen. I learned several things today. :)
Thanks for being awesome!

Nice one John. I didn't know about that X shortcut. Brilliant! Keep up the great tutorials.

Great info. Sometimes it's the simple stuff that brings it all together! Thanks!

I use sketch constraints for everything. and math inside dimensions d1/d2  for mirrors rectangular patterns and circular patters. Don't need spread sheet. Just check out Manage Parameters. You can name and track all your dimensions there. So the part is built by logic and can be rescaled if required.

Excellent pace with the narrative on this one John.  Easier to soak it all up in a more relaxed rhythm.   -- Cheers, Gary
