There are no immediate threats to the area, but we'll be watching the northern Caribbean and southern Gulf of Mexico later this week for possible development.
If something does develop, it looks like it would stay far south of Louisiana. We're expecting an area of high pressure to build over the Southeast late this week. That would shield our area from any potential systems and keep anything that develops in the southern Gulf of Mexico.
