I'm surprised as just a fun fact that it wasn't mentioned why Roosevelt's head is so far back and turned. They screwed up and had to sort of start over by going deeper into the mountain.

"It was never about the money. We just want our land back..."

That just broke my heart :(

To add on to this, Borglum was an active member of the Ku Klux Klan and his previous work was the Confederate memorial in Stone Mountain.

Those historians looked awfully similar to the New Day members from WWE.
Time travel confirmed?

This video underplayed the achievements of roosevelt. Remember that he broke the monopolies in America, which was an undoubtedly good thing. I agree he shouldn't have been up their with the rest, but it's unfair to imply that all he was was a guy who liked hunting

"It was never about the money, we just want our land back"

Theodore Roosevelt was known as being one of the kindest presidents of all time. He went out of his way to remember every person he met by name. That is why he is in the monument he was loved by most. It was not just because he knew the sculpter.

I was told the mountain is called "He Sapa" (pronounced "hey saapa" ) in the Lakota nation, which means "the black hills, " and was one of the most sacred places to the native people

The best part is looking the other direction, as people walk onto the viewing area the emotional range is wonderful.

After a few thousand years when humanity starts all over again, they would wonder why there's random heads in the mountain

Interesting fact: Roosevelt's voice was actually quite high. He had asthma and a series of infections as a child that caused serious damage to his respiratory system and vocal chords.

They're really downplaying the great accomplishments of teddy. He started the national parks, loved conservation, and took down monopolies
