My grandfather was treated the same way. Did 15 years of a life sentence for murder back in the 1940's until the real killer confessed on his death bed. Grandpa was tossed out of prison with $10.00 a white t-shirt and cacky pants and shoes. You did not get phone calls back then. I feel for you sir. And glad you're home.

That poor man. So glad he is free. How ridiculous that he got 400 years and this man was innocent. Disgusting

How do these people "pay" him back for the 34 years they robbed from this man? I want to hug him and his Mom...this is SO WRONG.😢

Mr. Sidney, never let your mother go. She needs your hugs for the rest of her life. Being sorry doesn't begin to address the years of your life that were stolen. Florida needs to give you any and all types of compensation for being wrongly incarcerated for over 30 years.

This is Truly a tragedy. Shame for those that put an innocent man in jail and WASTE his life.

His dad died without knowing that ♥️Sidney was exonerated 😢. The cruelty of man is soul-crushing. God bless him 🙏🏼!

How do you ever compensate someone for that kind of loss and injustice? No amount of money could ever make up for that kind of trauma. This is the very reason I have never believed in the death penalty and never will. Wishing this man nothing but love, strength and peace from here on. Cheers, from Country Victoria, Australia 🇦🇺 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

Man, this is awful. I hope he can get some compensation. He deserves an endless vacation, for the rest of his life.

This is America. What type of evil do you have to be? That can treat people like this. Pure evil

Prosecutors and judges who abuse their power like this should be held accountable. Maybe a 25 year sentence would be appropriate. The amount of hate they must have had to do this to someone… it should be considered a hate crime. Imagine how many people have been unfairly discriminated against in the so called justice system.

I have never burst into tears when seeing a man I didn't know embrace his mother on a video. This time did it. Mr. Holmes, from the bottom of my heart I am sorry for what you have been through. There is no way to make up for it, except for you to have the most lovely, sweet time with your mother from now on. Greetings, blessings and a hug to you and your mother from Oregon, sir. 🍃💐🍃

They need to give that judge 50 years for such an insane term

When you give an important job to Someone who is clearly unqualified both legally and morally, this kind of tragedy happens.
State and national officials across all departments need to be elected based on ability not affiliation.
Wish you well Mr Holmes
Your state owes you everything to be happy and confident in continuing your life outside of prison! ✊🏻

This man deserves a Gofundme at the very least if the state won't compensate him.

I'm sorry but I just can't understand how people can say there isn't a serious racial problem within the justice system. All you have to do is look at how many innocent black men have been finally released from prison just in the last year. Something needs to be done.
