@ and " keys swapped???? Fix it now
1. Go to the Windows settings / control panel - Time & Language - Region & Language
2. Click option on your preferred language pack
3. Under Keyboards click 'Add a keyboard.'
4. Submenu shows available keyboard layout. Select the layout of your Keyboard; Choose your country or choose the US because it is currently most popular Keyboard layout
5. Now you can remove old keyboard layout

This didn't work for me, as I apparently already had two languages/keyboards available.

My fix (got a clue from another YouTube clip):
In the bottom right, on the task bar, next to the date and time. Click on the 'ENG' (at least it is for me) and I changed the keyboard to US keyboard when it was incorrectly on the UK keyboard.

For those of you in the UK and it doesn't work, scroll all the way to the bottom and click "United Kingdom Extended". Then if you also have "English (United States)" remove that and set the English one as default, click options again check if it's fine then go back and exit and now try.

Also, thank you dude!

Thank you so much it worked! This problem has been causing me and my family in a lot of inconvenience. Now, I can actually still use UK as my language but US as the keyboard. This is so much better!

As of 10/2017 this still works!
Oh my god you fixed my computer! I was searching all over!!!

The problem I had: was that I would try using an american keyboard (US), however it kept swapping the @ and the " symbols (like in the UK keyboard). This totally fixed my problem. Note that this fixed the problem even though in the final stage of the tutorial I still saw the UK keyboard on the list of keyboards. This is like magic! NO RESTART WAS REQUIRED BY ME.

Subbed. You helped me alot. Liked.

Tmrw is my tcs digital exam so that i would like to work on C language. But due to this key-swap problem I wasn't able to type # character. If I didn't find your video I couldn't code anymore in C.. You've saved my life.. Thanks bro.. So much of love❤

It did work! So I now realise I've got US keycaps and have lost the £ and is gone back to the $. But for people that don't know if you open the clipboard you can find individual keys to input (win and period keys)
