Toy Story (1995) - Split-screen Comparison: The Chase (Digital VS. 35mm) (1080p HD)

preview_player
Показать описание
A split-screen comparison between the 35mm footage (probably from the same master as the 1996 and 1997 LaserDiscs (CLV, CAV, & DTS CLV)) used on the supplemental features on Disc 2 of the 2005 DVD and the digital-sourced footage from Disc 1.
Audio is from Disc 1 - Dolby Digital AC-3 5.1

The fact that an Rc car an catch up to any vehicle is actually kind of impressive

See, George Lucas, this is proof you can remaster a movie without changing everything.

Cool. Right version looks like a 1985 movie. Talking about color compression.

gotta hand it to ya, this video is a lot more honest than a game graphics comparison video.

I hate the fact that Mr Potato Head was a douche the entire film and when he realizes that Woody was right, he doesn't say anything about he was wrong or something. Now I thinking, Mr Potato Head might be the real villain instead of Sid or Scout

I’m confused what’s different about the one on the right. It looks like the final render just had a lower resolution. I don’t see any storyboard, animatics or any unfinished animation on the right

Something weird I noticed is that when the cars collide and Scud gets stuck in the middle, the cars are honking their horns at the car they crashed into, like the other cars just stopped for no reason.

The quality with wich this movie was animated is quite astonishing.

notice at 0:31 the number plate says HTT1195. the film came out November 1995. Maybe this is Hits Theaters This November (11) 1995?

For some reason the digital-source seems more artificial than the analog one.

1:04 That first car that almost crashed into Scud has the same license plate as the Pizza Planet Truck

They only rendered the movie twice and 2nd time that was for the 2009 3d version (they needed to place the cameras in different places.) The vhs, dvd, laserdisc and blu ray all come from the original 2k render. The only difference between the two is they came from different Intermediates. Both of the videos come from the same master. Also the 35mm copies looked a lot better then what was shown in this video.

the disc one feature film looks like the one rereleased in hd with better quality and stuff while the other one looks like what the original really looked like when it was released in 1995 lol
