I love my 512GB version because I do not have to worry (as often) about my 4K video, lossless music and high resolution mirror-less camera image storage. It is amazingly convenient to have all my files in my pocket as well. Cloud is good for backups, just in case I lose my phone or need to access files on another machine.

Online storage isn’t as reliable as having it “on” your device. You’re solely depending on your internet speeds to load your content when it’s being stored on a cloud. No internet, no media.

On the one side there is a defense: solid state storage (which all smartphones use) operates with chips that run in parallel. Consequently the more chips (aka more memory) you add, the more chips can operate together and the faster they can go. Therefore there is no reason the 512GB and 256GB versions of the iPhone XS should not be able to perform faster than the 64GB model. But again, Techvarium is raising a very valid question in this video because right now Apple is marketing exactly the same its 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max models. People should definitely know the difference between all three models before buying so expensive device!!

Yes iCloud storage is fine but once you erase the pics from your camera roll it will erase from iCloud also unless you log into a different Apple ID name that’s different so how is iCloud that good? The most storage is your best option where you can keep all your phots in your camera roll and on the back up

I was playing PUBG on my 64gb iPhone 10s max on the highest graphic setting and was experiencing overheating and throttle. I returned it and got the 256gb. It still gets a little warm but not hot like the 64gb. Any thoughts?

No 2 things are the same and that includes phones. Did you try a second 256gb phone? It might have a different result

iCloud storage and phone storage are 2 completely different things lol iCloud storage is useless for me I’d rather just get more phone storage

What about now with the iPhone 12/12 Pro/12 Pro Max? Would you still get the 256GB model over the 512GB model?
Plus, I don't think that Apple ever said anything about the writing speed, they just released a 512GB model so that those who want this storage capacity can have it (on their phone, instead of having to use an online service which might not always be comfortable).

I love more gigs of storage, simply because I do not trust the cloud. I believe if you have to pay somebody to store something for you whether it be in a locker or a bank account. No doubt somebody else knows your business and has access to it. I use my old phone's to store all of my stuff, that leaves me in total control.
