50s Wiring - How to Swap a Gibson or Epiphone Guitar From Modern Wiring to 50s Wiring

Показать описание
Modern Gibson Les Paul guitars and most humbucker equipped guitars like the Gibson SG, ES series, Flying V and others come from the factory with "modern wiring." This wiring setup makes the guitar easy to play and sounds great to most people, but there are other ways to wire the pots and caps in your guitar to yield different results.

The most popular way to wire your guitar to give more of a vintage feel is to use "50's wiring" which is simply the way that Gibson originally did it back in the 1950's. Any modern guitar can be converted easily to 50s wiring by following the steps outlined in this video.

50's wiring will affect the sound of your guitar, typically making the notes more clear and allowing the sound to retain more high end especially when the volume control is turned down below 10.

Interesting vid, but it would have been nice to actually hear the difference modern vs. 50's to have a better idea of what it sounds like. I never even knew there was this difference until I saw your other videos.
