Mafia II Cut Content - Maxwell Supermarket

The Maxwell Supermarket was a cut location from Mafia II. It was originally located at the very southern edge of Sand Island, just off the highway. It is not known what role it would have played in the actual game, but it was brought back for the Joe's Adventures DLC for one mission. The location of the Maxwell Supermarket was replaced by generic warehouses in the actual game.

Radio advertisements prominently feature grocery store ads in the game, indicating that at some point, Vito may have had to visit grocery stores in-game to stock up on food and beverages for his in-game safehouses. A lot of radio ads in-game feature things that have been cut, such as buying newspapers, cars, furniture, and houses, so it wouldn't be a big surprise if Vito also had to do grocery shopping as well.

I don't think this was cut content from the main game, I think this was specially made for the DLC, similar to how they rebuilt the cathouse
