Logical Trick To Learn Conditionals: ZERO & FIRST Conditionals | Different Tenses, Different Meaning

In this first video in the series on the LOGICAL TRICK TO LEARN CONDITIONALS we explore the ZERO and FIRST CONDITIONALS in a sort of new way, which is based on the science behind them and the concepts they express; and this applies to ALL LANGUAGES, not just English. Different tenses give different meanings and it’s important to know what message we convey when we use one instead of the other. You don’t realise that in your native language because your brain does everything for you without you having to think about it, but there is a long thought process behind conditionals that is common to all languages.

I'm best suited to:
-B2+ learners: we can cover Grammar, Vocabulary and I specialise in Pronunciation;
-Native and non-native English teachers or aspiring ones: we can learn and understand the Grammar, Vocabulary and Pronunciation terminology, concepts and techniques that you need during your training and that your students expect you to know and teach

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS APPROACH TO CONDITIONALS? COULD YOU TRANSFORM THE BASIC CONCEPTS INTO A CONDITIONAL IN YOUR NATIVE LANGUAGE? 💪

Good job, Sam! I like your logic approach you use with conditionals.
In Italian the zero conditional is just like in English: Se piove le strade si bagnano.
In the first conditional we use the same tense both in the if clause and in the main clause:
Se vincerò alla lotteria, farò il giro del mondo ( future tense), or a bit more informally
Se vinco alla lotteria, faccio il giro del mondo ( present tense)

I have precisely the same approach: time and possibility are the things that determine usage. :) And in Polish, the first conditional is different (so tricky): we have the future tense in main clause and 'if' clause.

Sam, good to see you again. I have always used "would instead of will" when it comes to an unlikely and imaginary situation. If I won the lottery, I would buy ....
Anyway, thank you for your time, it is always appreciated. Had I known you were coming, I'd've baked you a carrot cake 😋😋 🎂🍰

Hello sir
Is it OK to say.
If my computer plays up during the assignment, I will have to get it fixed before I can go on with my assignment and that will make some delay. Is it OK now ?
