I bought the a6000 brand new, two years ago and it's been my go to camera since then. I use it when I travel and for every day shooting. I've invested in a good lens like the Sigma 56 mm f1.4 and the results that I get with it are stunning!

Good job !... I bought one recently just to use with my manual focus lenses - I could see no advantage in buying a newer version like the A6100 or A6300 for this purpose - it does everything I need it to and more. I can understand why it has stayed so popular for so long.

Yes, enjoyed the vid. We purchased 2 used A6000's, including 4 OSS lenses(two kit) and a Sony handycam with image stabilization for LESS than a new A6000. We don't shoot 4K but if we need to, then we just rent better cameras for a couple days.

I have owned the A6000 for nearly 5 years, and bought it primarily for travel - due to its compact design and advanced features. I got sick of lugging my DSLR as a flight carry-on. One detriment you missed is battery life. If you are out shooting for the day, better have two charged batteries with you! Not a real problem; I do the same with my Sony Alpha 100 DSLR.

Great video but You forgot one really great feature. The A6000 can do eye autofocus which is the most helpful thing for portraits. You have to configure custom buttons in the menu to activate it.

I used my a6000 with my manual lenses and the a6600 with the auto-focus lenses... the a6000 takes some awesome pictures.

Just got back from our first-ever trip to Kauai. Finally forced myself to get out my used A6000. Could not be happier with the results. Some of the sunrise/sunset photos looked fake they had so much energy and vividness. No post-shoot software. Everything I have in my album is what I shot on the trip.
Loved the quality of the photos and the ease of use. Difficult part was getting used to the movie mode. That is new to me. But I dived in with no regrets after it was over.
One question. I got it that you shot this video for YT on the A6000. But what did you record the audio with? If I use my camera for blogging do I need an external mic? Your audio was great.
I have not scratched the surface of the features of my cameras. But when you make yourself learn with trips like this there is the learning curve but I really had fun and that is what it is all about.
Looking forward to a reply on the audio question.
Thanks again. Keep these coming!

I upgraded to the 6100 to have a little throw around camera when I’m not using my more higher end stuff like my a7iv. The 6100 is is a whole different league vs the old 6000.

Bro, I sold my 2014 year old Sony A6000 some months ago and I still regret it. Even though I have not used it for a year lol

Hey man, very good video with solid info. Thank you. I plan to get this body second hand. Upgrading from a Nikon D3400. There are some differences from the D3400, but not that much, and you may wonder why I do the upgrade... I don't have the budget for anything more than this at the moment and I really want to get into the Sony e-mount lens ecosystem. I want to know, if I get a lens, I'll be able to use it at the next body upgrade as well. At least till I go full frame. Btw, what do think about this setup: The Sony a6000, Sigma 18-50mm (full frame equivalent: 27-75mm) f2.8 and the Sigma 16mm (full frame equivalent: 24mm) f1.4? Watched a lot of reviews and everyone says that they are both very good solid lenses. Professionally speaking, at the moment, I do events and portraits photography, so that's why I also want that 16mm. To have a lens with f1.4 with a friendly budget for low lighting environments. I actually found some good second hand deals. And, for my personal enjoyment I'm into almost any type of photography, car, portraits, landscape, sport, etc.

I have pro FF cameras but still rock the 6000 in certain instances with a tiny samyang 24 2.8. It is pocketable. My other cameras are 7Riii and 7Rv. Don't want to bring them hiking, to the beach with friends, or events I'm not working. It's like 1/4 of the weight with that 24 compared to pretty much any other lens i have combined with FF. I also won't cry like a baby if something happens to it.

Your honest opinion
Should I get Sony a6000 or canon 60d?

I am about to get a camera but I want to go into portraits majorly but I will still do other types though.
But is Sony a6000 worth the money?

Would this camera be good for shooting closeup car/products videos ? And does it need a gimball stabiliser ?
