I've been in Karate for 12 years. It's not whether which one is better, it's on how you know how to execute the defensive move.

A few things to note: *1.* There are *several* forms of Karate, with Shotokan being the widest, mostly for sport. _Combat_ oriented forms include Kempo, Gojo and Kyokushin (my ryu), which are full contact, fast, and can look like _brawling!_
*2.* Capoeira is arguably faster and builds more agility; Karate has more practical applications in less space.
*3.* No one art is "better" than another; its how any art is _executed_ that makes it more effective.

I like how Capoeira looks like Breakdancing but deadly

The most feared thing about Capoeria is its unpredictability even going back in time and looking at its history. Now seeing that swinging leg coming up around from nowhere is like One punch man serious punch

I'm a capoeira practitioner here in the Phil. for me it depends to the person who is using his/her martial arts wisely.
I love how you respected both martial arts, that's what we need.

In my youth, I have done both Capoeira and Karate. I find Capoeira to give more energy to my body than Karate did. But in the end, both forms hold a special place in my heart.

For one, it's hard to defend or block a strike that has the whole body being thrown into it as Capoeira does. This is why their defensive and counter moves are to don't the strikes mostly rather than blocking. Muthia uses some of the same physiological principles when lunging a full-body forced to strike it's better to evade than absorb the impact. Karate being a more straightforward attack would be hard to keep up with the agility of Capoeira practitioner. The Karate martial artist would have to be extremely quick and fluid in the movement to defend again the Capoeira attack. Something karate lacks unlike Kungfu is the fluidity of movement and this is why "Bruce Lee" said; "Be like water, my friend!"

I've trained capoeira, tang soo do and karate. In my experience, it's how you use the art. But capoeira it's the most fun

I practice Capoeira since nearly 3 years in a club here in Germany. I love this sport. Me and my 3 daughters started train Capoeira because I wanted them to learn how to protect theirselfs and to understand, that the body of a woman also can be strong. In my eyes Capoeira is totally different to Karate and both martial arts can not be compared. Maybe to resist an attack from a stranger in the streets Karate could be more effective but for training a sport a whole life and learn what your own body is able to do, Capoeira is much more fun. I love to be Capoeirista!💚 🤸🏼‍♀️🏃‍♀️

It would be interesting to watch a fight between the two. It seems Karate relies on the ground a lot, while capoeira tends not to stand on it for too long. They could not be more opposite in technique.

I have been taking capoeira since I was 6 years old. Its has been an amazing experience. I was actually bullied physically once, 4 people were trying to pick a fight with me so i kept dodging the hits I didnt even touch them and they all were tired. btw i am 16 now.

The Capoeira fighting style seems more deadly seeing as it has constant movement, if a person trained to have more energy and balance than they would be pretty powerful

I’m a brown belt in Kajukenbo which is a mix of karate, judo, jujitsu, kenpo, and gung fu. Capoeira looks pretty cool and the kicks look very powerful. Respect.

I study them both and they are great together as ONE! I had to take my time, but I can feel them both falling into place as ONE ART.

I love capoeira .I started at 48 years old and still i train ! Iam 62 years old now . Try it ! You will learn many things ! Singing, playing instruments, learning the portughese language, acrobatics, and of course you will learn a martial art ! I believe that capoeira has very strong kicks which can be realy very dangerous. In capoeira when you attack you learn not to touch the other, and for your defence, you learn how to avoid the kicks and other moves .This makes you have good reaction and good strategy . So you enjoy the martial art with music clapping and realy a very big energy ! Capoeira makes you feel strong and happy relax and you can make many friends because when you do roda must be many people who play instruments clapping and two capoeiristas go in the middle and play capoeira after they change quickly and there is realy a big energy ! Capoeira is not just a martial art is a whole culture from Brasil .
Congratulations for the video, I respect all martial arts and karate!
