how do I remove a electric choke on a 80805 (holley 750), taking it off is the easy part. Just a few screws, the question is, will I have any vacuum leaks after, do I need to install a blank plate, or plug any ports?

I have an aluminum intake with the exhaust crossover and divorced choke thermostat still active. I have the divorced choke linkage only running the fast idle cam, the choke plate is removed.

My brand new 4160 choke doesn't heat up at all! I tried putting the choke from my edelbrock on it, but the edelbrock contracts the spring when it heats up so it closes the choke🤣. I assume the holley expands the spring. Frustrating a brand new part doesn't work. I can't even wrap my head around what can fail on this thing. There's continuity between the positive and negative terminals.

I have a question hopefully you can answer. I just bought a Summit Max Performance carburetor. It's a 4150 copy. It's electrical choke and I want to switch it to manual. As far as I can tell there is no vacuum running in the choke system. No external hose and no molded tube that would require a lead ball being hammered into the passage. If the choke does not have/use vacuum can I swap it over to manual choke?

What do you mean by creating a vacuum with the choke cover off? There's no vacuum going to the choke cap.

Do you need to wind up the sprong once you install the cap on ? Or just line up the srping with the arm and screw it on the carb

What would cause only one idle mixture screw not to respond? Holley double pumper, just did a detailed ultrasonic clean, then checked circuits with carb spray, then compressed air, on chevy 396, low mile car, fresh fuel, timing is correct. Just passenger side idle mixture doe not respond. I also checked the transition plate, to make sure it was only with a small opening, idling 750 rpm, about 12" vacuum at idle, drivers idle mixture screw does respond.

I have a 35 year old PCM 351W with e choke not working properly. Only starts with half gas (in neutral). What are the steps to properly set up the e choke and fast idle for the cold engine?

I have an older Holler 4010 series vac/sec. The choke is electric with a vacuum pulloff. There is also what it seems to be a brass nut that is open on the choke to the left of cap. Is that for heat to the coil from the motor to keep it open longer? Almost seems you can install a small copper tube in there with a compression fitting and run it down to a real heat source..

can you just remove an electric choke and flapper or will there be vacuum leak you discussed during the video that needs to be plugged? thanks

Let me say up front I'm not a fan of Holleys. However, I just bought a T bucket, only 29 miles on it. It has sat several years, after the guy who built it died and his son clearly didn't know much about cars. He couldn't get it to run, except on warm days. (There's a hint there.) I got it for a good price, because it was essentially a non-runner. I got it home and looked it over. It had a manual choke, but no way to control it. I installed a stubby little manual choke cable, set the choke mostly closed, and it started right up.

Hey
I have a 1997 mistsubishi lancer, im having issue with the gas keeps flooding the engine and it smoke like crazy. What could be the cause?

I have all these issues with the carb on my 383 sbc. Mostly with cold starts and the choke won't come off quick enough. So the motor bogs and almost dies when it's cold outside. I have the housing turned almost all the way clockwise. It will finally even out. Sometimes I need to add a little throttle. While watching this I just realized I could probably just turn the key on for 30 seconds and the choke will be more or less open. Then I can start it. Gonna try that tomorrow.

Great video and explanation. I have a 78 Ford F150 which I swapped the intake and carb to an aluminum intake and Holley 4160 carb w/electric choke. I have had issues with the choke from day 1. Just like your video explains, It works somewhat ok when cold, but then when it's warm, it comes back on after being in the store for 10 minutes. I have learned to live with that as it still starts fine, but it idles high again for a few minutes. I have a new problem that just started. It refuses to idle down. It stays at around 1500-2000 even when warm. I have tried lubing everything and removed my throttle linkage to be sure it's not hanging up, but I have to pull hard on the throttle to make it idle down. I backed the throttle set screw all the way out so it's not that, and I also moved the return spring further back to put more tension in it. Didn't work. Randomly it'll start to work properly for a little bit after blipping the throttle really hard several times, but as soon as it's cold, it starts again. Could it be the kickdown you mentioned? The red gear thing?
Thank you in advance
