As someone who lived in Japan, can confirm on the peace sign . All my friends were obsessed with posing their hands in front of their faces, even teachers and parents do it lol . Also maybe less common but for a school photo the photographer had us pose as motorcyclists revving up to look more ' sporty ' ( it was a sports day event )

I was listening to the radio a few decades back when a woman called in laughing over and over. She thought that the title of the song she had requested was Secret Asian Man. But the dj had very correctly pronounced the song Secret AGENT Man (by Johnny Rivers from Memphis). She had been singing that song wrongly for decades, and no one had corrected her! All that time, she said the lyrics were a little confusing, but she had sang on.
There's a skit in there somewhere.
