Breitling’s all-purpose watch for your every pursuit. The Chronomat holds a significant place in Breitling’s history. Introduced in 1984, at a time where extra-thin quartz timepieces were the order of the day, Breitling placed a bold bet on an impressively proportioned mechanical watch. Based on the Frecce Tricolori chronograph, which had been developed and launched in 1983 in collaboration with the famed Italian aerial squadron, the Chronomat celebrated Breitling’s centenary in style and marked the return of the mechanical chronograph to its rightfully prominent place at the brand which had built its global reputation on these incredible watches.

Love the movement and design of the Chronomat. Last rendition was too polished a bit gaudy. This one is perfect. Proud owner of a last generation Colt 41 all brushed metal.

I am wondering how Breitling can claim that they make watches for life? My Navitimer was last year for more than 2 months for service at Breitling's factory workshop and did not run afterwards - never experienced such a lousy service with a "premium" brand! The look was completely destroyed as there are no spare parts available and they cannot keep their watches in the original look (that is what they told me on the phone after my complaint). I thought this is a watch for a lifetime - as Breitling claims this in their ads - but this is simply not true. Just wondering how much value Breitling destroyed with their service ... Don't expect that a Breitling will work after a few years and look original.
If Breitling would care for "History" their service would be different and they would be able to keep their products original for years.

Beware if buying a superocean. The crown deteriorated and it was supposedly repaired under warranty. The exact same thing happened a year later out of warranty and to fix the problem properly they now claim the whole body needs to be replaced. Why they did not do that under warranty I’m not sure. Hence a 2000 euro repair bill. Regardless I will never purchase another Breitling again and I suggest everyone seriously reconsidèrs buying one.
