Latency is not causing the loop. The problem is that the input prompts are timing out whenever there is a pause in the dialogue.

if only there was a way they could filler in some response while it loads the rest of the response so it seems like a real conversation

Just keep pressing the two buttons after one another and it doesn’t interrupt the other one.

ChatGPT is dumb. Because it starts to speak, but has a long pause until it goes back to speaking to finish its thinking. So Pi hears its starting words, and when GPT gives that long pause, Pi thinks it is done and already starts to think and reply. If ChatGPT had a non-stop speaking rhythm like Pi, the loops wouldn't have happened.

if only they wouldn't buffer mid sentence... This seems like such an easy fix, just don't start talking until you TTS'ed the whole sentence lol.... Also the length of the pause they wait for is too short... it makes them frustrating...

Pi pretty commonly cut you off, and is way to verbose. I have had limited success in telling pi to be more succinct. But it appears there is nothing you can do to stop it cutting you off when you are talking to it.
