BLOOD TESTS FOR HAIR LOSS :THE CRITICAL BLOOD TESTS YOU NEED NOW!
These are my top three blood tests that are often overlooked when it comes to hair loss. Be sure to watch until the end, where I'll explain the exact ranges they should be in. Hi, my name is William Gaunitz. I am the CEO and founder of Evolution Hair Loss Institute and Advanced Trichology Products. I
've been helping people regrow hair for over 21 years and I'm a fellow with the World Trichology Society. In our practice, we regularly use blood tests. Most of the time, when you visit your primary care provider or a dermatologist, you're not getting the blood tests that truly uncover the core reasons for your hair loss. It's not just about the thyroid or DHT. The next three blood tests are the ones I find most commonly overlooked yet significant in contributing to hair loss.
Firstly, Vitamin D3. Vitamin D3 is actually a hormone. When hormones interact with each other, they can cause problems. In some cases, insufficient Vitamin D doesn't allow your body to process androgens correctly, such as testosterone and dihydrotestosterone (DHT), the hormone that causes male and female pattern hair loss. Therefore, it's crucial to ensure that your Vitamin D3 is in the optimal range. If your Vitamin D3 is not optimal, it can directly cause a reduction in the overall volume of hair across your scalp and, in some cases, your entire body.
Secondly, Ferritin. Ferritin is your iron storage protein. This is particularly overlooked in women, but also in men. Women lose blood through regular menstruation, and their iron needs are typically much higher than men's. Low ferritin levels may go unnoticed. When your iron storage protein is diminished, your body will not allocate the necessary volume of iron needed for normal and full hair growth, as it conserves it for vital organs. This can reduce the overall volume of hair. It's important to ensure that your ferritin levels are in the optimal range, or at least above 70 nanograms per milliliter.
Finally, your blood type. Rarely do people in the United States know their blood type, as it's not commonly tested. However, I find that dietary peculiarities based on eating correctly for your blood type make a significant difference in inflammation and shedding. Little known facts about blood type play a large role in what you should be eating specifically for positive hair growth.
For Vitamin D3, the optimal range is at least 60 nanograms per milliliter and below 100. On the screen, you'll see the optimal ranges. For Ferritin, if you are an A blood type, levels above 60 nanograms per milliliter are acceptable, but they should be above 100 nanograms per milliliter if you are an O or B blood type. Finally, here are the four different values for blood type. You need to eat specifically for your blood type. Look up the correct diet for your blood type and follow the highly beneficial list for the best diet for hair growth.
