Sally, I'm actually from Manitowoc (I'm sure you heard of that place), but my mom (1920-2012) was from TR. At 00:19 you show a snatch of what was my grandfather's mom and pop grocery store on East St..: Mom grew up above it. It was on the near side of the Tavern with the Green and Gold trim. The tattoo parlor downtown in ca. 1939-40 was a lunch counter which my Manitowoc dad ran and where he met my mom. Mom passed the place on her way between the "Red Bank" and the "White Bank" where she made deposits from a financial company where she worked after she graduated from Washington High School. I have several cousins who grew up in TR. Though I never lived in TR except for sometimes when mom and I were shuttle between relatives when dad served in the WW II Army, I spent parts of summers in the early 1950s there. I moved from the area for work after graduating from the UW in 1964 and live outside Washington DC. In Manitowoc, a favorite activity during my high school years was to park at the various beaches and "watch the submarine races." Was that done in TR in your days there??? LOL It was theoretically possible as Naval Reserve units did have some submarines on the lake. It was hard to see the races through steamed-up car window!

What a fun video! I haven't seen much of Wisconsin and I have lived here my entire life! I'm a homebody and have never enjoyed traveling, but I do like to watch other people on their adventures. Kind of makes me feel like I've been there. Two Rivers is a beautiful place! Thanks, Sally and Marty!

Your timing of posting this was perfect! I’d just walked in from having a couple beers with my best friend and needed 30 minutes chill time before bed and what better way to spend that than with you and Marty! Same age growing up in lakeside cities just different lake this is a fantastic video my friend. Oregon, Ohio on the shore of Lake Erie just east of Toledo is known for its lake breezes too. Those “what used to be where” conversations with old friends are fantastic! I want to visit Two Rivers after watching this!

I happened to vacationed in your home town just a few weeks ago. It was my first visit. I stayed 5 days along with my Wife and three Grandchildren to enjoy the beach. I was not disappointed. The people that live there in two rivers were just so nice and friendly. I love the shores of the Great Lakes!❤

I am surprised that Two Rivers doesn't have a giant statue of Sight Seeing Great video!!!

Phil Rohrer's Lunch, "7 hamburgers for a dollar" turned into 6 for a dollar as I got older. I begged my Dad to stop on our way to visit relatives in Milwaukee and one time he actually did. Located just up from the East Twin River on the south side of the street in the 60's.

As a teen who is currently growing up in Manitowoc, I would of never guess what history Two Rivers had! My great grandfather was a Two Rivers resident and before he died told some stories about the downtown area of the city. Even being a teen, I have seen alot change in Two Rivers in the past few years. It's sad since Manitowoc has more people but some how still can't keep family business and other things open. The community is alot more connected I feel in Two Rivers. Nice video and very informative!

Grew up in Trivers. It has changed a lot since I left to join the Navy back in 1976. Been back a few times, still have friends and family live there. Thanks for the video.

Just wanted you to know that I enjoyed watching this video. My family is originally from Chicago and my grandparents used to take my mom and uncle to Door County. My uncle later bought a summer home in Door County. Having driven thru Two Rivers while going up to Door county. Very beautiful place.

This was so fun to watch. I haven’t been to Two Rivers for a long time and the beach areas were always my favorite. I love it when you cover our great state of Wisconsin! I’ve never lived anywhere else and have no desire to either❤

I also took a city bus to Manitowac to go to Walmart.
I’m hoping you cover Ss badger, the maritime museum. I walked up next to one of the ships that was docked with grains for making your favorite brew, huge !!!

If the picture of the 'Yearbook signing' shows both Marty and Sally sitting on the wall -
then I know what Marty misses most about Two Rivers. --
It's his hair.
Marty - Sally -- when you asked the question -
"DO you have an idea why they call this city the coolest place in Wisconsin?" -
My first thought was "Because Sally and Marty come from there"
Of course I'm right - because everyone that knows me knows - I am always correct.
