With today's cars if you start with the blower motor on high your engine will never warm up. It's better to start your car, have the HVAC system off or on a very low setting and with it just on the front window while you go scrap your window off. Then jump in and turn it up a bit. Direct injected engines take longer to warm up so the more heat you pull out of the system the longer it will take to warm it up. Edit also never use a snow brush to clear off the car it's self use a squeegee style instead less of a chance to scratch the clear coat.
