I learned to use standard hive tool from Blue Ridge Honey Company and use it for everything from working bees to cleaning the lawn mower deck

I absolutely agree my top bars 3/8 " below the top of the hive and my hive covers are flat fur plywood .
I have a 2 " feed hole in them and a 3/8 high entrance 1.5"wide and 2 " in towards the centre .
Close the top flip the lid 😊
The supers for sale in sask have short frame rest i have to cut another 3/8 out of them .😢

Great video on splitting, we have the same weeds here in northeast ohio. When the first box was opened between cover and brick with three holes in it. I've seen bees collecting pollen off of it so I don't weedwack it.

Happy Easter. Just a couple weeks behind you here in Michigan. Made a quick round of inspections this past week and have a couple of failing queens that have a ton of drones already. Waiting another week to start grafting due to the weather.
