"Average life expectancy is now in the 80's in most developed countries, so we are losing out on 15-20 years of life for most people".
In episode two of Wired UK's four-part documentary series, we head to New York City to talk to Dr. Nir Barzilai and Dr. Ana Maria Cuervo, directors at the Institute for Ageing Research at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, about their extensive and detailed work on the biological, physiological and functional processes of ageing. We also discuss the institute's exploration into what genes are resilient to the negative aspects of ageing, as well as what impact the so-called 'miracle drug' Metformin could potentially have.

you may want to get the genetic components of my 90yo father, eats everything, doesn't exercise (but keeps busy working on stuffs), only has one maintenance pill (for hypertension), got delta covid but survived just on home care, mind works perfectly, body naturally a bit battered but he is still very much mobile on his own

Americans really need to adjust their portion sizes and slow their roll on the processed food. I’ve noticed that the less I eat and the less often I eat, the better I feel. Makes one wonder wtf they are doing to our “food”. I also notice that my overweight friends are addicted to the food. God forbid they miss a freakin meal, they act like they’re going to eat your soul.

Some people cannot tolerate metformin. I could not function. Had to just sit around or sleep. Too much fatigue. After a year I gave up. Feel fine without it. Dr claimed not possible. But I have read about others on internet.

Metformin is not proven by anyone to slow down aging! It's just an assumption so far. Метформин - для замедления старения не доказано ни кем! Это пока всего лишь предположение.

This is to make it more expensive, and not attainable for people who actually need Metformin, like the drug Ozempic that is now the new weight loss drug Being used by celebrities and influencers and it's now out of stock

Why can't we just bind the young healthy cells (forcing them from breaking off) together permanently?

There is one thing that bothers me: the only ways to be healthy in the old age are also ways which cause the longer life. I don't want no bloody longer life! I'm so old already! I want to be healthy, yes. But what would I do with another 20, 30, 40 (if people can become 120) years? What's the point of that?

My 4-month trial of Metformin (1.5g) proved me right: For all the wonderful health and longevity-enhancing benefits, I' experienced a 36% drop in total testosterone since starting which I knew about and several studies have shown.. I was already low normal (high 400s) which was not optimal, now am at 318 which is basically hypogonadal. Have been contemplating TRT for years but was concerned mainly over issues with moderate hypertension, and past blood clots. This seems like it will push me over the edge to have embark on TRT.
