DOUBLE your Warhammer from just one box!

Get more out of your Warhammer kits with this simple trick! I used my 3D printer to get more out of the Death Korps of Krieg sprue from my Warhammer 40k Kill Team Octarius box set. I managed to get 20 Krieg troops out of a box of 10.

This right here! One of the best reasons to purchase a 3D printer. Hate seeing the extra bits go to waste in my bits box.

It looks like you slightly overexposed the prints, which accounts for a lot of the "softness" you're seeing on the edges. On the OG Mars, where your layer exposure times are ~8 sec, drop the exposure 0.5 seconds, and I'll bet you'll find those prints much crisper.

Another handy bit about 3d printing is that you can print pieces to practice painting on before printing the legit stuff

G.W. need to do something like this. Sell the main body of models in kits and then allow upgrades to be purchased piece by piece and then printed at home. This would reduce waste, reduce their manufacturing needs (so reduce costs) and it would incentivise G.W. to promote kit bashing.

To fit in with the theme of trench warfare with these guys, you could use the arms and other bits to put in the walls of trenches. This inspiration came from my grandfather telling me a rather disturbing horror story that his dad told him when he fought in the first world war. When soldiers began expanding the trenches they often dug into unmarked burial sites of fallen soldiers.

The day I get my hands on an STL file for ironbreaker/irondrake bodies I'll be a very happy person. I easily have 30 models just sitting in my sprew box because they're missing 1 bit.

I always wanted a kreigs grenadier army from forge world. The cost was always to prohibitive. This kit re-sparked my desire a bit, but sadly a lot of forgeworld's lines are being dropped. If I could print that skull mask from the forgeworld mini's that I could throw onto these guys I would be stoked. That mask is sick!

I feel you, I really do, but… if you’re 3D printing most of the model anyway, why not just 3D print the arms too? Why buy the box?

This is the best use of a 3D printer in my opinion, to compliment GW not replace it!!

The really sad part is that back in the day you could put in orders with GW for bits. Just go the the store take a look through the bits book, now they are being asses...looks like it's beyond time to invest in a 3d printer

GW are gonna be coming for you man, they’re cracking down, you’ll be looking over your shoulder forever!! Great video though.

For those without a 3d printer, War games Atlantic Le Grognards and early war Germans make a great kill team. Especially with th remaining bits.

What a great review, and the consideration of printing 3D figures to be able to utilize the remaining spare parts, is a bonus content for the viewers like me who would not have thought of that option. Thanks very much for your efforts and advice!

I did the same thing but instead of 3d print I recasted chaos spawn body's and used all the bits to build that into full units I was able to get 6 extra models for a two model kit

the perception that the extra plastic bits are "waste" is driven by how much GW likes to charge for a relatively cheap material. the extra bits are there because selling two of the same box and sprue is cheaper than selling one copy of two different boxes.
