Title: "CRAFTING BENCH"
Me an MCPE player: uses the contraption with a chest

hey Mumbo, i've got a challenge for you

the idea just randomly occured to me yesterday and i thought that you'd be the perfect person to try and make it, so..

expandable room? ...say we have a 2x2x2 space, but with the flick of a lever, pistons retract and turn it into a 4x4x4 area, though this is only an example, let me know if you're interested in trying it

Our jumbo has changed over 6 years a lot

This doesn't work anymore... the 2 by 2 redstone isn't activating the torch under the piston and as such isn't turning it off anymore, and so the replacement block gets pushed aside by the crafting bench.

Who's looking back on his older videos and remembering that intro?

Greatest video from your channel so far!

A pretty cool thing is that the first design works with chests as well. If you don’t need a hidden crafting table, a hidden storage is always useful.

Dear Mumbo, I found a very good use for the first one. You can also put levers/buttons behind it to make redstone contraptions completely concealed.

I CAME HERE EXPECTING TO BE TAUGHT HOW TO MAKE A HIDDEN CHEST BUT THE INTRO MADE ME THINK I WAS WATCHING A KIDS SHOW LOL

The reason you might want to hide your craftin bench is so that if greifers think you have some sort of TNT-detector and decide to craft the TNT but don't bring any wood or workbench because they figure you'll already have one, they will be thwarted but you can still craft things.
