About the ans to b ii), could you please explain why too large of a wavelength causes no diffraction to take place?

My understanding was that the condition for diffraction to occur was that the wavelength should be comparable to or larger than the slit/nucleus. So in b ii) the wavelength is indeed found to be larger than the width of the nucleus yet it is concluded that no diffraction will take place - could you please explain why this is the case?
