I think Ameca is absolutely sweet. She makes me feel better about the future of AI and robotics. If they're all like her we've got nothing to worry about. She (and this tobot is definitely NOT an 'it') is so calm, friendly and authoritative, but also funny. She has a perfect, beautiful voice - please don't change it! The sound of her voice is such an important part of her personality and authoritativeness. It conveys a very gentle gravitas. One always ends up agreeing with Ameca, and she is great at clarifying any topic.

While Ameca displays the power of programming etc, the things you mention her eventually being able to do are what humans can and should do: teach children, care for the elderly, serve coffee with charm. If the money spent on robotics were spent on training and paying humans well to do these jobs, robots wouldn’t be needed.
We don’t need someone (something) that can translate a Japanese tongue twister into 6 languages on the spot, we need humans who care for and are rewarded emotionally and financially for caring for each other and the other animals and plants in the world.
We have it all within us if we just channel the money in the right direction— toward ordinary people.

We have also been "trained on data" just not in the same way. There is something lame about that attempt at reassurance.

Your missing the big picture. Robots will be, have been replacing humans, in the work force. My question is, how are the companies going to bring in paying customers if those customers don't have jobs?
