Last time we looked at the Standard Normal Distribution, a distribution having a "perfect" symmetric bell curve as its pdf. Such a distribution has mean 0 and standard deviation 1. In this lecture we build upon this by studying the Normal Distribution. This is a distribution that also has a symmetric bell curve as its pdf, but the mean and standard deviation can be numbers other than 0 and 1, respectively. This generalizes upon the Standard Normal, and allows us to solve a much wider range of problems. The Normal Distribution is also quite ubiquitous. It is used all over the place, and is a very common distribution to use.

We look at how to use the Standard Normal to answer questions about Normal Distributions, with the so-called z-score as our champion in this endeavor. We also look at how to use a Normal Distribution to approximate a binomial distribution when n is large.
