I gave you a like on this video. Super underrated. One of the best video I've seen so far to test the capabilities of osmo action 4 lowlight. Thanks man

DJI has confirmed on their forum that you need 1/200 minimum to get rocksteady to work properly and make sure that you will not introduce micro jitter to the footage.

Thank you so much for your videos! They gave me a lot of confidence and I'm expecting my dji camera soon and also started to master davinci. I'm also thinking about buying a separate 3 axis gimbal. Very few people are so immersed in the intricacies of shooting and processing. So I think your channel is the best on this topic, as I stopped using gopro after 9 series and since then I have been following the camera market. I would really like to see Sony continue their work in this market. Looking forward to your new videos! And Happy New Year!

6:20 - The noise with D Log M looks much worse than what I get under even darker conditions with the normal 10 bit color profile and similar shutter speeds with even higher ISO, but i have denoise at 0 and sharpen at -1 while you seem to have both on -2, but this scene of your video is also probably post produced much brighter than it really was, therefore you have such bad noise. I agree that 1/100 is the minimum, that gives a good compromise between luminance & colors versus sharpness & stabilization in dark conditions

Thanks, great explanation, just was checking first clips why it's so muddy when I was running with the camera. For us, a lot of light afternoon, but for small sensor, not so easy. Will try different settings next time :)

Nice Video. What are you recommendations (sttings) when putting this cam on a tripod and filming a train in a dark environment?

My 2 cents for low light footage.

Image stabilization off
Frame rate 24
Shutter speed 50
Iso max 1600
Tripod for stationary shots
Gimbal for walking
That's how we will allow maximum light to hit the sensor.

Dude, do you have any recommendations for when you vlog with the DJI OA4 and then you go into and out of darkness or the lighting changes etc. and the camera adapts... it's just tough to grade and it's ugly 😅

I dunno... have you noticed that? When it adapts to a new situation it's pretty ugly for a short bit of time.

Do you think that with RockSteady off and running the footage through GyroFlow make any difference? Also are you using an external mic with it or does the built in mic sound so nice already?

Hi there. I am confused. I just got the DJI OM4. I will NOT use it for action (no running, no sports, no MTB), just for vlogging (walking slow). So, what is the best shutter speed and frames per second rate for low light vlogging using Rock Steady stabilization? I have no idea how to color grade, so I will just use a normal color profile. Also, I don't know how to use Gyro Flow, so that's why I need the best stabilization out of the camera. Thanks for your content, it's really useful.

Hello,

1. May I know what are the setting for 4k60fps to reduce these jitters in low light on Action 4?

2. What is the recording time I can expect in 4k60fps in action 4 indoor and outdoor?

3. which charger should I use to charge action 4?

4. If I use action4 as a studio camera shooting in 4k60fps how much recording it would give me with a single battery?

Pls respond!!!

Maybe I missed it, but were any of these tests done without an ND filter?

I'm looking to get a action 4 or the pocket 3 and I was just wondering, would you be willing to share any of the dlog footage you do of the landscape or anything really to google drive or dropbox so I could play with it a bit in davinci to see how much of the shadows / highlights I could get back compared to standard picture profiles / how much time the render takes in 4k (asking because I never owned any camera that could do dlog and I kinda don't want to purchase it just to find out I may not like doing things manually). Also totally understand if you wouldn't want to share any clips.

Have a nice day

Heya, for someone that wants to capture that 1/50 cinematic feel at night what would you recommend as a solution? I create night time reels on motorbikes, so the motion blur really captures that feel i'm after.

So, actually, we are not far from the 180° shutter rule: In fact, if you use 60 fps and 1/120, you can use image stabilization and the result should be fine.

I also have stabilization problems when I shoot in 1/60 for 30 fps so I switched to 50fps and 1/200 shutter and the most problem but it's strange because on the gopro I didn't have this problem and I film in 30 fps and SS on 1/60 and I have never had any problem with stabilization however even in 1/200 I keep a nice motion blur for my part I do FPV drone but hey maybe the does the sensor be bigger than the gopro?

Hello, when i film on a sunny day, i have something like waves on the ground. The effect is more marked in town on asphalt. Do you know if this effect of waves depends of the shutter speed ? (i use only 1/200 on sunny day)
Thanks !
