S2: The catfishing neighbour is horrible. But that last comment and LG nailed it: OP takes no accountability whatsoever for her role in nuking her marriage. I'm glad the framed husband is divorcing her. She claims to be amicable now, but I guarantee that will change, once the ex-husband finds someone better.

Story 2. If I was the husband, next door neighbour would be in SERIOUS danger of significant physical harm for destroying my life and marriage and hurting my kids with the fallout of his actions.

I gotta say with the way op worded it: The brother in story 2 probably only apologized to the op and not the innocent man he assulted with zero proof. After op clarified that he apologized and was 'remorseful' she never told us what the ex's response was. That or she didn't bother to tell us cause she was too wrapped in worrying about herself only.

Story 2 : i read this before, i hope the ex husband can sued the neighbour tho.

I've been on the losing end of false accusations of cheating. It is frustrating and disheartening, especially when you still love and want to be with your significant other. I don't blame the husband in the second story for moving on.

S2: Stunning the OP apparently takes zero percentage of the blame, and thinks her family just behaved like anyone would. It was just "unfortunate events", like a hurricane. 🙄 Congratulations at least to husband who got out of this weird family and is staying out. Something tells me this is not the only reason.

So in story 2, you told all his "friends" and your families that he was framed, right?

_Right?_

Confronted them with evidence?
Did they reach out and apologize? Beg for forgiveness?
Did your ex-husband press charges on your brother?
I want to know more about _them_ more than i want to hear about OP, cause she's a lost cause already.

Goddamn man, i can't imagine the emotions that man must be feeling right now. False allegations, assault by your in-laws, can't see your children _and_ an ailing father on top of it all?

That man's been through enough. This is some *bullshit* man, damn 😕

OP's definitely NTA. He dodged a bullet. Kudos to him. And his best friend and his wife deserve to go on vacation as a thank you for being there for OP. Also, OP's ex is so stupid and so is her ex. They torpedoed their lives in spectacular fashion. They clearly deserve each other.

Nope, OP didn't give the trip to the sister out of spite, she and his friend was just a convenient choice, and it helps they're good people. Honestly, the ex can kick rocks.

Plus, even if it was out of spite, it was his money. She was screwing around and she found out.

Dang, the sister definitely have better moral than the ex. I hope OP would remain good friends with the couple. And after a stunt like that, I'd be really surprised if the sister wants the ex in her life.

Story 2 I heard this one before as well. Op should have pressed charges on the brother for the assault. That poor husband. He deserves so much better.

Story 2 is why I don't agree with a lot of Redditors when their advice with cheating stories is "go nuclear, completely ghost them, don't give them a chance to explain themselves" when they don't even have the full story

Catfishing Profile: When I pointed this out on Reddit, people were defending her saying "In her mind she had incontrovertible proof" Yeah, she's an unreliable narrator. She doesn't tell you ANY red flags she saw about his behavior and says NOTHING about what she said or he said.

My theory: She didn't want to be in this marriage anymore, got a small bit of "proof" and decided it was enough to blow up her marriage. OP got what she wanted

Story 2: After All that's happened (the betrayal, assault, being ousted from family and friends) There's been too much time and damage done. I'm glad she decided to let her ex-husband be or ex-husband and not try to pull herself back into his life.

"We really do love each other..."
I think you mean loved, past tense, he don't feel that way about you anymore and is unlikely to ever again.

I have to say that "I lightly self-defenced him" is one of the most epic quotes I have ever heard in these stories. lolol

S2: OP must absolutely go public with the truth so everyone knows he's a good guy. There's no chance without this.

I was hoping that OP in story 2 would own up to her mistake but she didn't even seem that remorseful or understand that she was one of the factors that caused this marriage to go down the rabbit hole. I feel terribly bad for the kids and the now ex-husband but not at all for OP.
I also hope the ex-husband pushed charges against her brother. Assault is never acceptable.

Talk about a cheater accusing another man as "not a real man". The irony is crazy😂

Story 2 OP deserved no sympathy or second chances. She didn't believe her husband and nuked her marriage and then has no spine to admit responsibility for her own actions
