From an ex wood machinist and carpenter, that is a beautiful and well crafted piece of furniture young man. Excellent work!

It's insane the level of professionalism in your videos at such a young age. The little sketches with yourself, the explanations and problem solving stories you share with us, the craftsmanship, and the videography / editing. I am blown away that you are excelling in so many areas of your work! And so cool that Michael Alm helped you come up with a great solution for the hinges!

DUDEI! You legit did work on this. I thought it was going to be one of those "look at me build this in my driveway, with 10k worth of tools" but instead you really did all this with basic stuff on saw horses in the middle of winter. Legit kudos. and that wave front end is next level. Your excitement at every item that turned out how planned got me excited for it working out for you. I know all too well the frustration of putting time into wood just for it to need to be scrapped. 👍

As a furniture design graduate, this inspires me to get back into making furniture again. Awesome video man!

Building such a piece is a feat in and of itself. Add unfavorable working conditions, filming the perfect shot, crisp editing on top of balancing student should be damn proud of yourself! Beautiful performance all around.

his folks must be so proud of him, and i hope he's proud of himself too. college, making all this amazing custom furniture, the leaps and bounds he has improved in video shooting, compiling, and editing in what seems like a short time. just amazing. not even to mention how i get this vibe that he accomplishes his vision in the EXACT way he wants it when it comes to building. thats a serious skill.

Mate.. just wow. I followed the whole thing. It felt like I was there. Well done. It’s exquisite. Your taste, your craft, your imagination equals an amazing piece of furniture. And nice work on the editing as well. I did not scroll one time.

This is the most beautiful record cabinet I've ever seen! Way to go Miles!

This video led me to discover your channel and subsequently watch all your videos. One thing that struck me was how much your parents have supported and appreciated your talents over the years. I would like to suggest a future project of building new kitchen cabinets for your family home. Not only would this be a great way to thank your parents, but I would really love to see how you would approach kitchen cabinetry with your modern woodworking aesthetic. Might I recommend curved corner cabinets? Perhaps you could use your laser cutter to incorporate veneer inlay? In any case, I subscribed, and made my sons watch your videos to gain inspiration.

My husband is a retired cabinetmaker. When he first started, the garage was too small, so he also had to build out in the driveway. We had to eventually rent a container to put his finished cabinets in, to keep the cabs out of the rain.Keep it up! You have a good start!

Miles, it feels so strange to me, to feel so proud of a young man who lives thousands of miles away and who I will never meet, but I do.
Not only do you have a creative mind, but you also have the ability to bring your creations to life. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next.
Can I also send a big shout out to your parents for being there, because let's face it you couldn't have done this without them.
👍🏾🇬🇧💙

I was a carpenter on construction sites for many years, all the other carpenters used to come to me to sharpen their chisels as none of them were any good at it. Learn to free hand it, having a bit of a bevel is not the end of the world and if you care it doesn't take long to learn how to get a flat edge on it. I did most of the work with my legs and used my upper body to brace it. Also don't overthink it, you can do the same with rocks down by a river, this is ancient and primitive stuff, and that's a good thing. Also sharpening a wood saw is way easier than you'd think

Dude. That is one of the coolest woodworking projects I've seen on YouTube. The creativity, the finesse, the patience, and the aesthetics are all next level.
You should be incredibly proud of yourself - absolutely unreal.

I remember Laura talking about you several times in the past. I was vaguely aware that you were incredibly young and talented. Fast forward five years and I run across this thumbnail and immediately started watching you for the first time.

Three things I absolutely love and respect about you and your work. Your voiceover is top notch and communicates the build process very well. Camera work is stunning given the lighting, time constraints and the fact that it’s only you. Lastly they glue up was rough to watch and looked hard as hell. Kudos to you for showing the hard bits that drive hoards off armchair quarterbacks to comment about whatever they would do better.

After watching this video I can see why Laura talked about you. She was really ahead of the curve at seeing your potential. Thank you for this video and all your hard work.

This is cool as hell Miles. Makes me realize I have no excuse for not pursuing the projects I want due to not having the perfect shop to do it in. Your commitment is highly admirable. The cabinet looks insanely good. Keep it up man. 🤙

man this feels so similiar to when I built my guitar while in college. Thought it would take me a summer. Two years later I finished it. Well done nothing is quite as rewarding and motivating as seeing your own work come together and getting to remind yourself of what you are capable of.
