When you want to temporarily stop an extension from running in the Chrome browser, you can just disable it without uninstalling it, so that you can re-enable it at a later time.

As opposed to remove, disable is an option that keeps the extension installed, but stops it from functioning until it’s re-enabled.

There are plenty of reasons why you might want to disable extensions in Chrome. Some extensions consume a lot of resources, while others ore only one time useful.

Whatever the case, here’s how to disable extensions in Google Chrome.

You need to open the extensions page, where there are listed all the installed extension. And there are two ways of doing that.

You can click the dedicated button which you can find after the extensions that show up next to the address bar.

You can also write chrome://extensions in the address bar and press enter to open the extension’s page.

Once there, you just need to click the blue toggle next to every installed extension.

And obviously, the same way you can later re-enable your disabled extensions.
