Wide plank pine floors are beautiful and can be budget-friendly if the material is readily available.

This was the nicest most beautiful. I like the large knots. I found out that larch wood, if European, has big, black knots. I wanted to have a floor in larch wood. Then I saw that maple wood is light and got interested in that and now I saw those broad planks with large knots too, but they are more uneven than the larch, I will pt tonkinlak on it because it is natural. I think larch wood might stay almost white and the other will become dark with tonkinlak, but I don't know yet.

Tatiana, yes, everything dents this floor. It looks great, and so you live with it. There are great alternative. Use walnut for a great look, a darker finish, and no wear. Or Southern Pine which is harder and holds up better. If you are near a Lumber Liquidators, look at the manufacturer laminates. Then pick a southern cherry price at $1.79 sq.ft. do not worry it looks great and the price is right to replace it when you get tired of it.

This looks very nice and rustic. I probably wouldn't choose it because I have a dog. I really prefer the reel wood floor vs the fake wood look. I recently looked at a new home model and was immediately turned off because the floor looked fake. What is the hardest wood flooring? I also really like the multi color wood where you have browns blonde reds together. Thanks for sharing home and floor looks very nice 👍

I was looking to get the wide plank floors in a 18th century house redone - some just need to be cleaned up - some have been painted and that needs to be removed. How would you go about that?

Why did you not say if this is toung and grove or what ? Planks come from trees but it how the planks are installed and conditioned that really make the difference. Do they use edge dowels or biscuits with nails. Very important info. to know about the floor.

since when is $7/sq ft "inexpensive"? Much better quality products that will hold up better for half the price. You can buy coco oak 2 1/4" prefinished real hardwood flooring for less than $3/ft. Be interested to see what this looks like in a year or two. I like a distressed look, but IMO the appeal of Pine is ONLY if its cheaper than oak etc and other more robust materials... Floor looks good, but this wouldnt be my choice at that price point.

Beautiful the first day and a year later gaps, dents and scratches will render it ugly..
