Ever since lucario, I've learned to expect that any humanoid pokemon will be like a foot shorter than you'd guess

Good thing that there's extra large variants of the same species to compensate.

I think I'm more surprised about the height AND weight distribution. Like Machamp is 5'3 and can move mountains? Insane

A lot of pokemon gave the impression to be huge cause they're always compared to 10 years old children.

Personally i like that they're sensible in size and not Kaijus.

Like idk, a 5'7" 200 pounds fire breathing lizard is still pretty big all things considered.

Yeah, it's canon that Charizards that live and train in the Chariciffic Valley grow much larger than the average Charizard. It's how Ash's Charizard got so tall.

Bea apparently being 165 meters tall is wild.

I think a lot of people always thought Charizard was way bigger because of the giant animatronic one from the island that breathes fire at them in the opening of the first season of the show.

Future paradox pokemon are small because as technology progresses things tend to get smaller

I found out how tall Charizard is because of a statue in my town square that is of a real-sized Charizard, when I saw it I thought "Nah! A Charizard is much bigger than that", so I went to check on Bulbapedia

I've never thought of genesect as a "giant bug mecha" so, in fact, I'm actually surprised by how tall it is. 1.3m would be my guess usually.

Nahhh never thought Peppa Pig would be taller than charizard 💀

I think the size of the pokemon is whatever size it is when they first evolve into the form, like the Charizard that is 5"07 is like a newly evolved Charmeleon at lvl 36.

I always thought Genesect was smaller than the average person and i'm right. But fr, pokemon before the gigantamax was really afraid of making their fantasy creatures big

I like the fact they don't just go overboard on the numbers

I think the thing people tend to misunderstand is that some pokémon are measured differently. Charizard is 5’7” from head to toe. If you measure it from head to tail, it’s probably at least 9 ft long.

It’s often compared to Furret, whose dex entry shows that it’s 5’10” but unlike Charizard, it actually *is* measured from head to tail, and not in that standing position we usually see it in. Throw in how slender it is and it really is pretty small compared to Charizard.

Give the Regis a mention. You'd THINK those mfers would be huge

MACHAMP BEING THE SAME HEIGHT AS ME IS SO MIND BOGGLING

I know some pokemon heights may seem weird, BUT I'd like to offer an alternative reason for the numbers: maybe, like real animals, some pokemon are simply measured in different ways.

Maybe pokemon like mudbray and charizard are measured by shoulder height instead of head to toe, while others like furret are measured from head to tail, and many more possibilities exist too! It's fun to think about imo
