Even her laugh is Japanese. The culture you grow up in sure plays a huge role. Respect for her English ability, heads above most.

Im half Russian and half Japanese. I was born in Japan and lived in there for 7 years, then i moved to Australia and i have been here for almost 15 years now. I speak all three languages i can read and write in both Russian and Engish but unfortunalty i read only some of Japanese and write very basic Japanese. So nice to see someone who speaks these three languages too

Какой интересный контраст и она так хорошо и чисто говорит на всех трех языках. Круто!

She would win the beauty contest! It is funny that she has a hint of a Russian accent, rather than that of a Japanese speaking English.

Hey Max and Victoria! Thanks so much for this fascinating video! It's always so moving to see how people are affected by their ethnicity and try so hard to fit in and be accepted! Thanks for the lovely, humane story! 🌿

Wow, Max, this is one of your best. Your great ones always have great guests. Your great guests always seem to provoke you to your best questions and interviews. James Tetsuo Nomura speaking here, 86 year old born in Texas, living in California, 3rd Japan!

It's so precious to hear, that in primary school, "they didn't question her being different" and it was atarimae (understood). Kids see no difference.

Wow! She has lived life more in her 23 years than any 50 year olds that I know, who has never their country of birth..
I know she will do well in whatever she chooses in her lifetime. Great vid.❤

She's Russo-Japanese just like a cousin of mine is Korean-Antiguan.

Overall what truly defines a person regardless of where they were born is hs their relationship with said place.
