In the 1990's my Russian wife was on a TV talk show about this very subject. After 27 years I am still married. I endured a registry office wedding, UK reception, Moscow Church wedding, a Moscow reception, and a work reception in Primorski Krai. I never tire of telling people I married the same woman twice in order see their brains trying to work it out.

As someone who has married to Russian women, both of whom returned to russia, I can say that it is very difficult for a Russian woman to move to some place like america. They have very unreasonable expectations of what America is like, and when they get here they are usually very disappointed. For some reason they have this fantasy that all Americans live in a place like New York City. They don't quite understand that the majority of us live in a place without public transportation. They also don't seem to understand that all Americans are not rich. I am middle class but I could not keep up with the expectations of my second wife who literally could spend money like it was water! I think the one girl who said that she would marry somebody from another country if he had money was probably the most honest of all the women you interviewed!

I dated a Russian girl back in South Africa for 6 months before leaving South Africa . 3 years later to showed up in my new city.

Brat is an excellent film. It's the second of two that he made. Both are very good. When I learned about the first one, I searched and found one with English sub-titles. Too bad he was killed in an avalanche. I think he would have made many great films had he lived. I learned a lot about Russia from the films. I highly recommend seeing the films. As for marrying a Russian girl, my experience and observation is such that it shouldn't be done unless you're willing to live there. The things that make her so endearing will be lost living in your culture. It changes them but not for the better. The best thing to do is live with her in her culture. Keep in mind that you don't marry just her but her family as well. So make sure you like her family as well.

3:49 when I had visited USA like 20 years ago I asked some American colleagues (engaged in Russian studies) what do they think of the "Brat 2" movie... "Russian Fascism!" was their answer.
Looks like it's not about Russia making a U-turn in recent 20 years, it's about Western elite who always imagined Russia this way...

Great interviews! Russian girls' attitude towards foreign guys is rather different from your previous videos, above all when asking if they would marry a foreigner. In Italy we have a saying: "wife and oxen of your country" and this also applies to women, but it is only a saying and perhaps these girls prefer to marry a Russians guy, so that they are not wrong. That interview style worked well. All of the women were nice looking, polite, responsive and all nicely dressed. From watching yours and some other walk around street interview type blogs, I get the impression that not so well dressed “plain Janes” are hard to find.
