Driving Test #4: Lane change and turning

Knowing how to properly execute a lane change is a critical driving skill. So is knowing how to properly stop and turn your car. This video shows you how these skills should be performed.

I totally blew it at parallel parking, ran a stop sign, and caught myself 5 over the speed limit twice and my instructor still passed me with an 84. There really is a god.

I am taking my test tomorrow. I am SO nervous. I lost my sister at 13 to a speeding drunk driver, it happened right before my eyes, and as a result of that I have put off getting my license until now. I am 28 and years of stressing over this have built up to this moment. Ugh. I wish I didn't have to take it! :S I just hope I get a friendly examiner! :)

Taking my test tomorrow morning at 11am! So excited. I'm a little bit nervous and anxious, but it's a happy anxiousness more than anything. I have successfully passed two written exams (I had to convert my permit to another state) on the first try, and I've had my permit for a whole year. I'm pretty positive it'll be a piece of cake. I am a good driver. :)

Watching these videos and having access you your practice test online have really helped me.The videos make it straight forward about what will be expected and seeing another person maneuver their car helps me a lot (I'm a visual person and prefer seeing videos and pictures). And the online test has given me a pretty good feel for the type of questions I will be asked to answer =) Thank you so much!

Took a driving lesson today.  It makes sense to look left, right and left again, and NOT just glance.  I glanced left and right and a bus I didn't see the first time  nearly crashed into us.  Very important to look carefully

This is great! One of my pet peeves with regard to driving is people who do not turn into the nearest lane at an intersection. Not only is it dangerous, but it also prevents others from being able to turn on a green light as they should be able to, delaying traffic flow.

I failed the test my first time because of this same reason. I was told to switch lanes and the person behind me sped up and I slowed down before switching. I was immediately failed and on my paper the instructor wrote that I did a dangerous lane change. I was pissed but more disappointed than anything else. I have my second appointment coming up soon and I am so anxious.

I have one tomorrow too :D according to my sister, the test is extremely simple and straight forward, as long as you use common sense and have made these driving techniques a habit, you're fine. You can lose 19 points without failing, I think parallel parking is worth 5 points, I still can't do it perfectly every time, so it gives me hope I'll still pass even though I'm probably failing that part haha. remember if you break a law, you get an automatic fail. good
