If you gave college credits for all the knowledge farmers actually have, it would be a doctorate degree. 😊

Yesterday my husband notiiced a few boxes in the dumpster. We are snowbirds and getting ready to drive north, so he thought he would grab a few boxes. He picked up a box and noticed it was full of canned food. A second box had canned food in it too. He brought them home. We went through them and there was only one can of refried beans that had expired (2023). We used the can of refried beans yesterday. There were over 50 cans of soup, peaches, apriccots, vegetables, and ravioli. Bags of lentils, rice, and 😂macaroni!

The first year I was married my husband was drafted into the army to serve in the Vietnam war.I was 3 months pregnant. That was 58 years ago. When he came back from the army he became a farmer.Times were hard.We rented a miners shack with an outside outhouse and a water pump outside. We rented it for 10.00 dollars a month.I wish I could go back in time and relive that time period.

Please pray for my husband, he is my best friend, he has stage 4 pancreatic cancer. We are heartbroken. We adore each other and although we serve the Lord he does not want to leave me behind. He is such a wonderful man and my soul aches for what he is enduring. Praying for healing and comfort.

Every month I either buy my extra canned foods OR ( I can't do both) I'm spending it on oil lamps and lanterns/wicks and oil, battery operated lanterns and batteries. Also I've purchased all sorts of used vintage homesteading books.Heck Ive even invested in a loom and am teaching myself weaving and spinning. This month I went a bit over budget BUT its worth it ; I bought organic bulk grains, purchased 8 chicks, bedding, food, etc.. NOW I'm getting my coop cleaned out and ready to go ( I haven't had chickens for almost 2 years).
WOO HOO!

Dear sweet girl,
I'm 76. Live in a little house in suburb. I cannot move. No debt, prepared as much as possible. But every day I do one more thing. God is good and trusting in Him. Love, love, love who you are...❤

My husband may not have a college education, but he's a master carpenter (loves to build furniture), can do any kind of remodeling, roofing, electrical, plumbing, or cement work, and can fix/rebuild motors. He does all of the maintenance on our tractors and vehicles, as well as home maintenance and remodeling. He was a volunteer firefighter/EMT for over 25 years and has a lot of medical and first aid skills, too. He's a big history buff and keeps current with politics and local, state, national, and world events. I'd match his intellect and abilities to anyone with multiple degrees in multiple fields. He's the go to person in our neighborhood and circle of friends when anyone needs advice or help with any project. Just because someone doesn't have a degree doesn't mean they aren't intelligent, skilled, or knowledgeable. Oh, and he's genuinely a nice guy, too, and a great husband, father, brother, and friend. (I have a degree and worked in the medical field for many years, and I think he's way smarter than I am!)

My husband is a farmer, a physics major, an electrical whiz, a welder, and can fix any machine on the farm. A very smart guy.

Two 5 gallon buckets stacked, covered with an old round table cloth and a lap quilt on top of that. Makes a great, cute side table and stores about a month's worth of food.

PLEASE listen to Patara. We are dangerously close to having to hunker down and live on whatever food, water, medicine and all necessities that we have now for a very long time. There won't be time or opportunity to run out to get what we need. Patara has to choose her words carefully. You must pay attention and read between the lines. Time is extremely short. Watch Iran, Israel and China. What happens there will affect this country very quickly and severely. It will likely be multifaceted and overwhelming. We could be forced to live in a 18th century world in an instant. This weekend the situation is extremely volatile. I don't even want to venture too far from my home. PRAY Prepare and PRAY some more. I know that it's scary. Get right with God and pray for wisdom and discernment. We are all here at this time for a reason and God will equip us with what we need, but we have to do our part. Blessings.

I've got stuff under my bed, in my closet. Wherever I got an empty spot to put boxes of stuff. Where there's a will, there's a way!!. Water in my trunk, in corner of my kitchen. I don't mind walking around boxes of stuff next to my bed. I'd rather do that than sitting around moaning and groaning about how I'm going to starve. If I do, can't blame no one but myself!! Thank you Patara. Love listening to you!!❤❤

My Daddy had an 8th grade education. He grew up during the Great Depression, with 13 siblings! He learned a trade, brick & block mason, and later got his GED. My Dad's career lasted 50 years, and he became a Master Mason and Carpenter, and General Contractor. He could weld, build whole houses from the ground up. He had customers in 3 different states, and he always said "if you learn something by actually doing it, you'll never forget it" My Dad passed away in 2018, but his legacy lives on in me and my 2 brothers, one of them is also a Master Brick Mason & General Contractor. Practical skills will NEVER fail you.

About 4 tears ago i had a dream of famine coming, some places worst than other. So if you have a piece of land and even in an apartment you can grow certain things do it. Every day things are getting worse, wars rumors of war. Now Israel is waiting for Iran to attack them, this is not looking good for us either . The news are not telling the truth about how many people have come to the country through the open borders. By now must be at least 20 million people. China, Russia and Iran probably by now have their armies here. And they are not doing anything about it the borders are still open. God help us, lots of prayers for this country and for people to wake up. Only God can help us😢
