“Ukraine will be able to hold their own plain for the future and make it impossible for the Russians to squeeze Ukraine into a political crisis.”

The US and UK’s aid package to Ukraine will cause a “disaster” for Putin as it will provide long-range missiles and ammunition to strike the Russians, explains Michael Clarke.

Ron Johnsons next door neighbor should decide one day to move their property line 40% into his and claim it. Unbelievable this guy holds the position he does.

Ron Johnson is a lot of what is wrong with America nowadays. A putin apologist i'm curious how much he has been paid to hold russia's talking points.

We won't call Ron Johnson "America first." Ron Johnson is Russia first.

I can't stand people who cry about 'all the money'
this is war, we have to do what we can.

The problem with giving Ron Johnson air time is that he doesn’t know what he is talking about: US taxpayer spent this money decades ago when the weapons that are being sent to Ukraine were built. The US taxpayer will continue to pay for secure storage of these weapons and munitions until they are either given/sold to a cause like Ukraine or they are dumped. It’s not that current US taxpayers can’t afford to give them; its that it makes no economic sense to keep then when allies (people whose interests are aligned with the US’s) could use them to advance shared interests.

So many Americans don’t understand that the US can’t exist without a global mindset. Even when someone in a country on the other side of the world hacks their identity or bank account, with the connivance of that country’s government.

How did so many people become so ignorant so quickly? People like Ron Johnson were given air time.

Funny how Ron Johnson thinks two years is too long for a "proxy war" in Ukraine while simultaneously thinking that 20 years was not long enough for a *direct* war in Afghanistan.

To see and recognise the threats now out there, should wake up everyone. Get the defences out there

Ron Johnson sounds as though he would appease Vladimir Putin and likely ask Putin, "How much of Ukraine would you like?
All of it? OK, let's move on with it."

Michael Clarke actually knows what he is talking about, one of the few observers who understands the military details, contemporary Russian politics, as well as the historical context of this conflict. We are are lucky to have him

The moral boost for Ukraine from the aid package being approved (and the demoralising effect on russia of course) is worth considerably more than $61. It's priceless.

The Americans were late to both World Wars so no surprise to the Ukraine delays.

USA GDP $25.44 trillion.

USA Defence Budget $857.9 billion

Ukraine aid $61 billion

So about 7% of defence budget

About 0.24% of GDP.

Your tax bill will barely show a thing.

USA spending on Iraq and Afghanistan $2.313 trillion from 2001 to 2022

Ukraine gave up their nukes with the understanding of having protection.

Also, over 6, 000 Ukrainians performed military service in Iraq and Kuwait during the war, including a permanent presence of 1, 600, and 18 Ukrainians were killed

How will these aid packages do that when the previous ones didn't? What is the difference? At the moment it is a bl00dy stalemate. Around half a million have died on both sides.

Great conversation. I maintain a positive view of Ukraine's future given the tragic dithering of the Republican - led House in delaying necessary support to Ukraine's defenses. This is that without sufficient munitions and machines both offensive and defensive Ukraine has had to dig deeper within their rather substantial capabilities to fight and survive (I doubt even Americans could match one for one the fierce Ukrainians in a contest!). Now with a considerable supply of munitions Ukraine will use them with greater efficiency and deadlier effect. Add to this, that Ukrainian's European neighbors have been stepping up to their responsibilities to link arms together with Ukraine, to fight this scourge within their own region!

It is time that NATO plan to take him out. You have to take some risks, but it’s worth the risk taking him out. How hard is that?
