Being drunk does not mean you are passed out; otherwise, we would not have DWI laws. Drunkenness means that your mentally weakened, just like if you were drugged. It is a method of removing inhibitions, creating a false sense of virtue and invincibility, almost making you think you are immortal, invincible, and answerable to no one and creates a spirit of indulgence. This is what the daughters tapped in to. Just like Moses who died in the fullness of manly strength, the soil was still nutrient dense and a man's vitality was guaranteed for a much greater age than today's people.
