I tried to ask her this evening - I’m 13 - and she just said “Why? You don’t *need* to, hair is natural.”
It *is* because of insecurities and confidence and being judged. It’s kind of disappointing because it’s coming up to summer and I want to wear shorts and PE skorts with confidence. I do have fairly dark leg hair (and tanned skin) and I feel like I really am ready but none of my friends do and that’s not helping my argument/ reasoning.

im pretty late but im 13 years old and my mom actually brought up shaving first. i was really embarrassed to ask her but since she brought it up i agreed and she’s gonna teach me later (probably in a few hours?) anyway im seeing people that started at 10. ofc do what works best for you but don’t feel insecure about it!! you’re so beautiful and body hair doesn’t define your beauty. if you do want to shave then don’t be embarrassed to ask, it sounds much more embarrassing than it actually is.

I started going through puberty at 8 turning 9. Then, I started shaving when i was almost 11. i decided I was done with really long and thick hair. I got my period this summer, and so I think it really just depends on when you start puberty. Once your hair gets really thick and hairy, i think it’s a good time to shave. like i said, i started at 8 turning 9 i started, so since i’m almost 12 i’ve been going through puberty for about 3-4 years now.

Hello I’m not that much of a hairy girl I’m 12 turning 13 this year and my leg hair is kinda visible but still not bc I don’t grow that much hair and all the other girls are shaving down there but it doesn’t bother me at all but I feel like I’m the only girl who doesn’t shave and my mom doesn’t shave so idk how to ask her without her telling me no.. like I said it doesn’t bother me at all I just feel like since everyone else is shaving down there I feel like I should too🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️
