One thing I like about P5 is the sheer colossal amount of varied voice lines for all the characters. Even when they’re acting on their own, their actions really make it seem like they’re people communicating with each other on the field

The way I fight is I put anyone who can hit weaknesses on Act Freely, put everyone else on Direct Commands, and just have everyone except the weakness-hitter Guard.
Works 99% of the time.

I’ve written this as a reply to another comment in this comment section, but I’ll repost it here for anyone interested.
It is on the topic of the AI party members in P3FES.

“P3’s party members are actually really competent (mostly) as long as every enemy is scanned.

The way it works in game is as follows;
Your party members start a battle not knowing any weaknesses or strengths of the enemy, so they just YOLO (lol). It is the Nav’s job to inform EVERYONE on the team of the affinities of every enemy (including bosses…the AI will, upon proper scanning, learn the affinities of bosses even if the actual analysis screen the player is provided with shows you nothing), so that the AI can then act accordingly. I like how diegetic it is.

However, the game never really stresses the importance of scanning properly. It is never communicated that it works this way, nor is it really suggested. You’re just supposed to pick up on this while playing, apparently, despite it being so crucial to success.”
