Rain World - Rare Rain Variation?

It reminds me of a steam train.

The rain in rain world might be one of the most terrifying things in any game ever. The game does a very good job at conveying the sheer power the rain carries as it utterly annihlates the surface world and floods everything in a matter of minutes. I dont think ive ever seen ‘power’ portrayed so well in a game so that you can physically feel it, its like an unstoppable force.

Oh yeah, this rain is cool. I'm half-convinced it makes it a little easier to rush to a shelter, but there are also times where a sudden strong burst of rain can kill you.
I tried to make a long jump across a gap once and a sudden burst of rain *_BLASTED_* me downwards and I died instantly. It's fun.

i love it when this kind of rain happens, its terrifying in the best way. gotta love that adrenaline

I thought this was the norm because evrytime I stood outside of a shelter for enough time to rain, this is how it came. Interesting.

not sure if its "rare" but there are indeed multiple types of rain. This one has to be one of my favorites though it builds the adrenaline so much.

I love it when this rain actually happens irl. Its so freaky but easy to stare at, just bursts of rapid downpour for several seconds before it stops or slows down and then bursts again

Oh, that happened to me once! I was playing Rain World for the first time with a friend, and it was about to rain. We were SPRINTING for the shelter, and if that wasn't stressful enough, THIS happened. Really got the adrenaline flowing in both of us as we were screaming our butts off trying to get back in time

it reminds me of this other rain variation where it goes:

1) small droplets fall and make mini bullet falling sounds
2) it starts becoming a lot more droplets falling
3) it absolutely blasts down rain instantly vaporizing you

This type of rain happened in my spearmaster campaign, climbing back up Moon's can after returning from Pebsi after crossing the skybridge. Scary stuff.

It constantly happens to me, i think its less rare than the one that stops and then becomes hella powerfull

I was playing the Jolly Co-op mod with some friends and when the rain was beginning to come the rain was pouring until it stopped then and before i was going to say to run immediately, the rain just came back and faded until it sped faster and faster until we all succcumbed to the rain, it was so out of nowhere to me i was sitting there for a second attempting to process what has just unfolded

I've gotten this before I think. There's a couple weird rain variations, but my favourite is the one that starts with a single "plink" and in a few seconds ramps up more plinks to full force rain.

I haven't seen it myself, but yeah, it's a rare rain variation. Reminds me of the rain bands you see in real life when you're on the outer edge of an approaching storm cell where the rain switches intensity repeatedly, just quicker and more violent.

Yesterday I got caught in the rain while in chanopy, and at some point the rain just suddenly stopped, then I started hearing odd sounds similar to a snail's pop, and then the strongest rain I've ever seen in the game just suddenly fell and killed poor Monk instantly
