Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is pursuing a pardon for a U.S. Army sergeant convicted of killing a Black Lives Matter protester. The protester was armed when he and others surrounded the killer's car, but did not fire. Republicans have urged to pardon him on the grounds the shooting was self-defense.

The Sarge's actions were clealy legal under TX law. Despite what the prosecution claimed, he had no so-called "duty to retreat" because TX is Not CA 🐑🐑🐑

He didnt kill a protester he killed a guy approaching his car with an AK47. You don't protest with a rifle and threaten people with it and expect to live. Not in Texas anyway.

There's clear images of the deceased pointing his rifle at the defendant's windshield. c'mon bruh

You could say the same thing with the DA's pursuit of prosecuting the guy, probably we will see malitious prosecution lawsuit after. Jurors are only allowed to decide on what is presented to them. There was information with held from defense and every dirty trick in the book to get him prosecuted. If you have never faced our justice system you wouldn't know, especially with serious charges. The system is tilted to conviction before one statement is made. Research has shown even with total innocense theres a 30% chance of conviction or higher depending on the details of the case. Unfortunately we live in a nation divided and corrupted and if we are not careful there will be more people harmed for reasons that will baffle but destroy the complete sense of justice for all.

I'm trying to understand why BLM matters here.
So if it was a "regulat" protestor that wouldn't be as newsworthy?

I haven't seen the video, nor have I seen the video of Kyle Rittenhouse. I have to rely on the results of a trial by jury, and respect those. Sometimes they go the way you'd think they would, sometimes they don't. But to circumvent those with a pardon done for show sets a bad precedent.

I hope he gets a pardon! This is ridiculous! This was self defense!
